Ryann's Aunt Conni gave me a disc full of pictures of Ryann taken over the last year. I had so much fun going through them last night and found some great ones of her playing with her Uncle Scot...looks like they had fun!

Ryann's PlAyLiSt

Ryann is a music-lover and much like her mom, she LOVES to dance. I have compiled a list of her top 4 music-selections of choice...Hopefully she will always love music and dancing...and even singing (but she definitely won't inherit that ability from me)
4. The Enchanted Soundtrack: My friend Annie gave me this and Ryann and I listened to it every day, until Ryann tried to eat it..and sadly, it doesn't work anymore...

3. The Fugees (the edited versions, of course)Ryann loves the beat and really gets her bounce on...No Woman, No Cry is her favorite:)

2. REM's Greatest Hits...Much too my dismay and Mark's joy, I think Ryann is a lover of alternative music: She really likes this CD or maybe it is just the dancing with dad...

1. PRAISE BABY: She LOVES this, I like it too. Very sweet, praise-filled music that is not cutesy/cheesy. Does anyone have any suggestions on any music that babies like like Praise Baby?Looking for more like this

FiRsT WoRd

Since I am using this blog as a sort-of virtual scrapbook, I just wanted to note that I am officially counting "Dog"(DO-without the g sound)as Ryann's first word. Over the past few months,she has made a ton of sounds and babbles non-stop.However, I am counting "dog" as her first word because she actually looks at a dog and says, "Do" This started about a month ago when she was staying with my parents. They have three "Dos" and Ryann would pound on the window and say "Do" to get their attention. She now pounds on the window at our house,saying "Do", but no dogs appear.Why couldn't her first word be "mom" or "dad" or even..."I have the best parents in the whole world.":)Just kidding... We will take "do".Although this word business is a reminder that she is growing up WAY too fast!

Ryann enjoyed her second Easter,hard to believe she has a second anything! Last Easter was the day after she came home from the hospital and I really don't remember anything about it...chalk it up to sleep deprivation and the lovely Pain meds. This year definitely was memorable.Mark and I worked in the church nursery and looked after Ryann and all the other babies her age. We then enjoyed a delicious lunch with the Castleberry side of our family and really enjoyed being together.

Now that is a Big Fish!

So, my dad LOVES to fish. He is quite the accomplished Fly-Fisherman and enjoys practicing his technique at their neighborhood pond. He just does this for practice, not really expecting to catch anything. On Saturday night, he caught a gigantic 20lb carp on his fly rod. To catch this amount on a fly-rod is insane. It took him a hour to reel it in and he drew a crowd while struggling with this fish. One young man stood by him the whole time and said he would be glad to "pop" the fish. My dad had no idea what that meant but said he could have the fish once he reeled it in.He later learned what the guy meant by popping the fish...when he noticed that the guy had a gun and was planning on shooting the fish for him:) Oh, South Dallas...I love it! With all that said, that is one BIG fish!

Wedding Weekend

My BEAUTIFUL little sister got married this weekend to a wonderful man. We had such a JOYOUS time as we witnessed and celebrated their union. CONGRATULATIONS Sara and Jason, I love you!

VIVA PUERTO RICO

Mark won a trip to Puerto Rico with his company and we went last week. We had such a BLAST getting away as a couple to such a beautiful place, although we missed Ryann terribly! The hotel was simply breathtaking, equipped with a spectacular ocean view and it's own private island. One of the big highlights was a rain forest hike excursion in which Mark swam in a waterfall. We had such a great time!

All around the world, statues crumble for me...

...Who knows how long I've loved you! At Mark's Leader's Club Awards Banquet, Sugar Ray performed. They were actually really verygood and we had so much fun being so up close and personal at a concert...Where have they been since 1997?!? (I guess playing corporate parties and hosting Extra)
